This year’s In Memoriam segment during the Academy Awards last night paid tribute to many talents, including both Kobe Bryant and Kirk Douglas who both passed only in the past few weeks.
Yet the list is regularly criticised for a couple of absentee names that are overlooked and it has happened again this year.
The omission of the late Orson Bean, who died in a car accident on Friday, was understandable due to timing. However, the absence of actors Luke Perry, veteran actors Tim Conway and Sid Haig, and the young Cameron Boyce have all drawn ire – especially Perry’s exclusion.
The “Riverdale” star died in March last year and made his final on-screen appearance in Best Picture nominee “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. The Academy has now posted a lengthier clip on its website that have added Perry, Haig and Boyce to the list.
