Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Thomas Edison and Michael Shannon as rival George Westinghouse in the story of the race to create a marketable and sustainable electricity system. Edison championed direct current, Westinghouse backed alternating current.
In the wake of director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon getting back the film from Weinstein, the project has undergone a major overhaul in the editing room and will now be very different to the film that screened nearly two years ago.
Nicholas Hoult, Katherine Waterston, Tom Holland, Matthew Macfadyen and Tuppence Middleton co-star in the film which will arrive in select theaters on October 4th before going nationwide a week later on October 11.
