Lord Of The Rings Series Sets Its Full Cast

The main cast of Amazon’s lavish “The Lord of the Rings” TV series has been rounded out with a bunch of new names joining the Middle Earth-set production.

Tom Budge, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, and Charlie Vickers have all hopped on board in unspecified roles.

They join previously announced stars Joseph Mawle, Maxim Baldry, Markella Kavenagh, Ema Horvath and Morfydd Clark. Clark is playing a young Galadriel, and is the first confirmed major character to be featured in the series.

Set in Middle-earth, the adaptation will explore new storylines during the Second Age – a period three to six millennia before “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” and beginning after the banishment of Morgoth and one in which Sauron rises and creates the One Ring.

Further details about the series’ story are still being kept under wraps. Shooting begins in New Zealand in 2020 with J.A. Bayona directing the first two episodes. JD Payne and Patrick McKay are showrunning and executive producing the series which aims to debut in 2021.
