If you’ve seen “Captain Marvel” then you may have met the new 007 already – actress Lashana Lynch.
We know the currently filming “Bond 25” starts with James Bond (Daniel Craig) having left MI6’s active service and enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica.
A new rumor report in The Daily Mail is that with Bond now effectively retired, his 007 codename has been passed onto a new character – the one played by Lynch.
Lynch is not expected to replace Craig in the franchise moving forward, the report suggesting the switch is purely setup for the film’s events – and in fact when Bond meets her he tries his usual seduction tricks. They add that this development reportedly comes from screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s contributions to the film’s screenplay.
Other confirmed cast members for the film include Ralph Fiennes as M, Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeline Swann, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and the likes of Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Arma, David Dencik along with Rami Malek as the villain and a likely appearance by Christoph Waltz as Blofeld.
Cary Joji Fukunaga helms the film which opens April 2020.
