Jonás Cuarón (“Z,” “Desierto”) is set to direct “El Muerto” starring Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny (aka. Benito A Martínez Ocasio) at Sony Pictures.
Gareth Dunnet Alcocer (“Blue Beetle”) is writing the script about a luchador (Latino wrestler) with superpowers passed down from generation to generation in a single family.
The film is in early development and will mark the first Latino character to lead a live-action Marvel film which will be part of Sony’s SPUMC universe. The film will release theatrically on January 12th 2024.
