“McQueen” documentary filmmaker Ian Bonhote is attached as director on the narrative feature “Faithfull,” a biopic of singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull.
The story is set in London in the mid-1960s and depicts Faithfull’s roller-coaster journey from being discovered as a convent schoolgirl of 17, finding fame as a pop idol, living through hedonistic times and a tumultuous romance with Mick Jagger, and being a homeless drug addict in London.
Determined not to be just a footnote in rock and roll history, she fought her way back, going on to make 21 albums. Lucy Boynton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) takes on the titular role in the project and casting is underway for the Jagger role.
Julia Taylor-Stanley, Colin Vaines and Andee Ryder will produce and filming is set to begin this Fall.
