Holland On Plans For His Spider-Man Exit

Sony Pictures

Those hoping Tom Holland will be playing Peter Parker forever may have to temper those expectations.

While the actor has been out proudly promoting “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and saying he plans to stick to Peter for the foreseeable future, he’s also lining up plans for his exit ahead of time.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he says there’s a “clear vision” in place for his Peter Parker to hand over the Spider-Man role to someone else when the time is right:

“Oh yeah, there’s a whole plan that we have been working on for I would say since we finished ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. It’s laid out, it’s gonna change for sure but I have a really clear vision for the passing on of the baton and I think it’s really exciting. I know it’s really exciting when we have these meetings and chat about it but that is the thing that I want to do most in this character.”

The new film isn’t the start of a new trilogy according to producer Amy Pascal, who recently said “the rule that we set for ourselves is to take it one movie at a time.”

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is expected to next appear in “Avengers: Secret Wars,” but that hasn’t been confirmed as yet, with Holland himself saying on talk shows recently he hasn’t been told a thing about that film as yet.

The Russos confirmed at Comic-Con they’re currently prepping “Avengers: Secret Wars” to shoot very soon.
