HBO Max is developing “Point Horror,” a new 1990s-set anthology series based on the Scholastic books.
The show will expose the horrors of being a teenager, with each episode inspired by one of the books in the series but also serve as a 90s nostalgic love letter (much like “Stranger Things” is to the 1980s).
“Crazy Rich Asians” helmer Jon M. Chu will direct and executive produce the series while famed author R.L. Stine is attached to executive produce alongside Yvonne M. Bernard.
Picturestart and Lionsgate Television will produce.
