Netflix is developing “Hit Man,” a TV series reimagining of the 2024 AGC Studios-produced feature starring Glen Powell and Adria Arjona.
The film followed an unassuming police contractor, a college professor, who uses elaborate disguises and develops different characters to pose as a fake hitman and expose suspects looking to get someone killed.
Powell used multiple different looks throughout the film, and any series would likely follow a similar path – not unlike Jennifer Garner’s various outfits and looks in ABC’s “Alias”.
Powell co-wrote and produced the film alongside co-writer/director Richard Linklater, and both will executive produce the potential series at AGC Television and Powell’s own BarnStorm Productions label.
“You’re the Worst” creator Stephen Falk is taking over as writer for the series and will also executive produce with Dan Cohen, Stuart Ford, Miguel A. Palos Jr and Lourdes Diaz.
The movie, which premiered in Venice in 2023, hit Netflix in mid-2024 and scored excellent reviews. This will mark just the latest Netflix film turned series following “XO, Kitty” and the upcoming “Extraction” TV series.
