Amazon Responds To “Off Campus” Harassment

Amazon Prime Video and the creative team behind its romantic drama hit “Off Campus” have issued a statement asking fans to stop harassing the hit show’s cast members.

Louisa Levy created the series, which premiered last month and is based on a book series by Elle Kennedy. Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Josh Heuston co-star.

The story follows a female music student and a star hockey player at a fictional University who agree to a ‘fake romantic relationship’ in order to help each other out. The fake relationship begins to develop into a real romance.

Launched May 13th to good reviews, inevitable comparisons have been drawn to HBO Max’s smash hit “Heated Rivalry” in terms of the show’s graphic sex scenes and rabid female fan base.

Like that show, however, there’s been controversy over how aggressive and intrusive the fandom has been – especially in regards to the cast and their personal lives. There’s also been some insensitive and racist comments.

In the issued statement, Amazon indicates that accounts that engage in targeted harassment will be banned from following the TV show’s accounts on all platforms.

The full first season is now online at Amazon Prime with the show already renewed for a second season.
