Oscar nominee Viola Davis (“Doubt,” “Solaris”) is in negotiations for a role in “Eat, Pray, Love” for Sony Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir, the story follows a woman (Julia Roberts) who sets out on an international journey of self-discovery after enduring a terrible divorce.
Davis would play the woman’s best friend, Delia. Richard Jenkins also stars.
Ryan Murphy has written the adaptation and will direct while Plan B and Red Om Films are producing.
