David Frankel (“Marley and Me”) has signed on to direct the animated feature “Septimus Heap: Magyk” for Warner Bros. Pictures says the trades.
Based on U.K. author Angie Sage’s seven-volume children’s books series, the story revolves around two babies who are switched at birth.
One is a boy who discovers his birthright as the seventh son of a seventh son and is destined to become a powerful wizard, the other is a girl who is fated to become a princess.
More than one million “Septimus Heap” books have been sold in the US thus far. Rob Lieber (“Hoot,” “Neopets”) is adapting the script.
