Illumination Entertainment, the animators behind “The Lorax” and “Despicable Me”, are set to adapt “Clifford the Big Red Dog” as a live-action/animated hybrid feature says Heat Vision.
The story follows the adventures of a 25-foot-tall red dog and his owner, a child named Emily Elizabeth whose love for him made him grow so big his family had to move out of the big city to a New England-esque island town.
Matt Lopez will pen the script based on the Norman Bridwell kid’s book classic. Chris Meledandri and Deborah Forte will produce.
