While it’s not an official studio confirmation, it now pretty much set that Sam Raimi will indeed be directing “Army of Darkness 2” (aka. Evil Dead 4) even if he hasn’t signed on yet.
Fede Alvarez, the filmmaker behind this year’s remake of the original Raimi classic, tweeted the following this weekend – a response to a question that included the question itself:
“@thielebenjamin: Hey @fedalvar will you be directing the Army Of Darkness 2 movie?” Sam Raimi will!

Raimi is set to produce several projects in the works, but he hasn’t announced his next directorial effort as yet.
