James Franco is set to star in an upcoming $3.5 million indie movie about former gay activist Michael Glatze.
Glatze renounced his homosexuality after turning to religion following a health scare. The film will be based on Benoit Denizet-Lewis’s 2011 New York Times article about Glatze.
Gus Van Sant will produce and Justin Kelly will direct the film which begins shooting in New York in July.
