Actor John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash in the short-lived 1990s TV series based on the DC Comics superhero, will guest star on The CW’s “Flash” pilot.
Grant Gustin plays the new Barry Allen/Flash in the series while Shipp’s role is being kept quiet. It will be more substantial than a cameo though as the actor is tipped to be a recurring player in the show if it gets picked up to series.
Shipp isn’t the only new cast member as Tom Cavanagh has joined the cast. Cavanagh plays Harrison Wells, a physics rock star and the man behind Central City’s S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator who became a pariah after the lab’s explosion.
He tries finding redemption when he discovers his failed experiment had the unintended consequence of creating the world’s fastest man in Barry.
