Even though it doesn’t open until Friday, the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” film has joined the list of Fandango’s top five advance ticket-sellers in the company’s fifteen-year history.
At the same point in their sales cycles (two days before release), the film is coming fourth behind only “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and “The Hunger Games”.
The film is also on track to be the top seller among all films released during Valentine’s Day, the top February pre-seller and the biggest R-rated ticket-seller in the company’s history.
There is already reportedly hundreds of sold-out showtimes across the country.
