“Prison Break: Black Creek” Begins Production

Hulu

Hulu has premiered brief clips announcing the start of production on “Prison Break: Black Creek,” a reboot of the iconic FOX drama series from the late 2000s.

First revealed as being in early development back in 2023, the new installment is set within the world of the old show, but is not expected to involve the characters who were at its center.

That original series followed Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who hatches a plan to help Lincoln escape from prison. The show was a ratings juggernaut and scored much initial acclaim for that first season.

In the new version, Emily Browning stars as Cassidy Collins, an ex-soldier turned corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she’ll go for someone she loves.

Drake Rodger is Tommy, an inmate who has been incarcerated at the prison for ten years. Lukas Gage will play Jackson, a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign. Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, George Flores and Myles Bullock also star.

“Mayans M.C.” co-creator, executive producer and showrunner Elgin James will write and executive produce the new series while original series creator Paul Scheuring and executive producers Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz are also all returning.
