There have been various games based on the “Alien” franchise over the years, but none have come closer to capturing its spirit and drawing more acclaim than 2014’s “Alien: Isolation”.
In late 2024, timed with the game’s 10th anniversary, came the news that SEGA and developer Creative Assembly were working on a sequel with original game director Al Hope returning.
At the time, however, no real details were available. As today marks Alien Day (April 26th), both SEGA and Creative Assembly have now seemingly teased the sequel with a cryptic video posted directly to the game’s YouTube channel.
The clip showcases a door/hatch opening, but not inside a ship or space station, but to a rainswept planet surface that already has raised speculation the game will take place on the Hadleys Hope colony on LV-426 – possibly serving as a prequel to “Aliens”. The clip is titled “False Sense Of Security”.
The original ‘Isolation’ game unfolds fifteen years after “Alien” and places you in the shoes of Amanda Ripley, Ellen’s daughter, as she sets out on a horrifying mission to unearth the truth surrounding her mother’s disappearance.
Boasting the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the original 1979 film, the game emphasises stealth and survival horror gameplay over action.
