Charles Dance In Talks For “The Batman: Part II”

Netflix

It seems Matt Reeves has finally cast the role they couldn’t fill.

British acting veteran Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones,” “Frankenstein”) has reportedly entered talks for a key role in “The Batman: Part II” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Though not confirmed, it’s believed Dance will be playing the father of district attorney Harvey Dent (Sebastian Stan), joining the likes of Scarlett Johansson who is also aboard to play Harvey’s wife Gilda.

The role has been making headlines in the past few months as high-profile names were rumored to have been offered and then passed on it, including Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgård, Robert DeNiro, Viggo Mortensen and Daniel Craig.

The film’s co-writer Mattson Tomlin seemed to laugh off the De Niro report talk, and subsequently it has been revealed by Justin Kroll that the Skarsgard offer is the only one that was an actual offer.

“The Batman: Part II” is rumoured to have Harvey Dent, Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), and Batman/Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) forming an uneasy alliance to bring down a serial killer and the city’s entrenched mafia power.

Also set to star in the film are Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Paul Dano, and possibly Barry Keoghan. Filming on “The Batman: Part II” is expected to kick off next month in London ahead of an October 1st 2027 release.
