Pattinson: New Batman Film Is “Really Different”

Though there have been some good guesses, no-one is quite sure what Matt Reeves’ “The Batman – Part II” is about.

The most revealing stuff so far has been the casting choices with Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson in a role believed to be Harvey’s wife Gilda, and the revolving door of actors for the role of Harvey’s father Christopher Dent.

That has all led to various bits of speculation. Some think an adaptation of “The Long Halloween” comic, others think we’re getting a live-action take on the acclaimed animated “Mask of the Phantasm” film.

Then the other day came the news that the film will be going by the working title of ‘Semper Vigilans’ – latin for ‘Always Vigilant’ – which has reignited earlier rumours of the involvement of the Court of Owls.

Now actor Robert Pattinson, in a recent sitdown interview with Filme Gitmeden Önce to promote “The Drama” in cinemas this weekend, teased that people should expect something unique:

“The script is so good. It’s kinda crazy, because the first one was a little bit of a different type of Batman movie, and this is a really different type of Batman movie. Hopefully, people will be really pleasantly surprised by it.”

That has already led to new speculation that the project could be a take on Grant Morrison’s acclaimed “Arkham Asylum” comic run. Shooting on the project is expected to get underway in late May in the UK with Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and Paul Dano all reportedly returning.
