Actress Sydney Chandler has reportedly confirmed to Deadline that filming on the second season of “Alien: Earth” is set to commence in May at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
The move brings the franchise home, Pinewood serving as the base for the original “Alien” and “Alien 3” as well as “Prometheus”. It marks a major shift for the production, which shot its first season in Thailand.
Chandler, who is being honoured in Austin at the Texas Film Awards this week, also confirmed she hasn’t seen any scripts yet for the new run.
The confirmation follows a social media post last week by executive producer Dana Gonzales which indicated pre-production was underway on the new run.
The series, which takes place between the events of the first two films, scored a renewal back in November. The show debuted to strong reviews from critics and audiences, but proved divisive as the show unfolded.
Creator Noah Hawley indicated the show could go for up to five seasons.
