Chris Pine will lead the cast of “The Conjuring: Last Rites” director Michael Chaves’ new survival thriller “Yeti” at Netflix, reports Deadline.
The story takes place deep in the Swiss Alps, where an avalanche has unexpectedly unleashed something primeval and still alive within the glacial ice.
With no hope of rescue, a father (Pine) and his daughter must fight to survive against a merciless predator that blends in with the snow and is relentlessly pursuing and stalking them.
Iona Bell (“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”), Sofia Boutella (“Rebel Moon”) and Ray Winstone (“Damsel”) co-star in the project, no word on potential film dates as yet.
Peter Gaffney penned the original spec script which has since seen rewrites by Sean Tretta. Erik Feig, Dan Kagan and Jessica Switch are producing for Picturestart.
The film falls under Sony Pictures’ partnership with Netflix, where the streamer is offered a first-look at any films Sony intends to make for streaming.
