Alien: Earth
A posting on Instagram by producer Dana Gonzalez seems to indicate that production on the second season of FX’s “Alien: Earth” series will soon be getting underway at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, UK. That would suggest a late 2027 release plan for the new season.
Where There’s Smoke
Netflix has announced production is underway in Atlanta on “Where There’s Smoke,” Tyler Perry‘s new 16-episode TV series about firefighters. Tyler Lepley, Mike Merrill. Da’Vinchi, Eltony Williams, Brock O’Hurn, Joe Hunter, Karen Obilom, Brittany S. Hall, Mariah Goodie, Jordan Rodriguez and Judi Moon star.
The series follows the lives of a group of firefighters as they navigate the intense challenges of their high-stakes profession while grappling with personal struggles, fractured relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives in a world filled with danger, drama, and heartbreak. Deadliest Catch
Todd Meadows, a deckhand on Discovery’s “Deadliest Catch” series, has died at the age of 25. Meadows was working on the Alaskan crab fishing vessel the Aleutian Lady and passed away while filming Season 22 of the series.
Rick Shelford, the captain of the Aleutian Lady, calls it the “most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady”. Production on the season has since concluded. Several cast members in this highly dangerous line of work have died during the show’s two-decade run. [Source: TV Line]
Zootopia 2
Disney Animation has announced that its $1.85 billion grossing “Zootopia 2” has finally set a Disney+ premiere date – the title hitting the SVOD service on March 11th – approximately 105 days after its theatrical debut.
The film, the highest-grossing animated MPA title of all time, is also the fifth title from Walt Disney Animation Studios to surpass $1 billion globally. The title is up for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. [Disney]
