Cannes Film Festival
Famed South Korean director Park Chan-wook (“Oldboy,” “Decision to Leave,” “The Handmaiden”) will preside over the jury of the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Park, coming off the recent success of his acclaimed film “No Other Choice,” will become the first South Korean president of the Cannes Film Festival in its 79-year history – Wong Kar-wai the only other Asian filmmaker to have headed the jury, 20 years ago. [Source: Variety]
The Catch
Chris Pine is in talks to star opposite Emma Stone in rom-com “The Catch” at Universal Pictures. Dave McCary is directing from a script by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin. A Little Slice of Hell
Filmmaker David F. Sandberg (“Shazam,” “Annabelle: Creation”) is attached to direct the horror film “A Little Slice of Hell” in development at Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of John Goodrich’s short story, Greg Weidman and Geoff Tock will pen the script.
The story follows two underpaid supermarket employees who realize that they should have read the employee manual after encountering a customer from Hell – literally. Johnny Pariseau, Patrick Gooing, Molly Milstein, Jack Heller, Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen, and Lotta Losten produce. [Source: Deadline]

A24 has premiered the trailer for Sofia Coppola’s “Marc by Sofia,” a documentary on American fashion designer Marc Jacobs. The film will release in theatres in New York on March 20th, then nationwide on March 27th.
Jacobs, creative director of the French design house Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2014, is widely considered as one of the most famous fashion designers in the world.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Warner Bros. Games and DC have premiered a new cinematic clip from “LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight,” which mostly recreates the famous museum defacement sequence set to Prince’s “Partyman” from Tim Burton’s 1989 film “Batman”. The game itself will release in stores on May 29th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
