Heated Rivalry
“Heated Rivalry” series creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady appeared on CBS Mornings today and confirmed writing is now underway on the second season ahead of filming in August.
They then said they’re currently targeting an April 2027 release for the second season – arriving almost a year-and-half after the series launched on Crave and HBO Max to become a smash sensation in multiple markets. One of the series stars, Connor Storie, hosts SNL this weekend. [Source: THR]
Smiling Friends
Adult Swim’s animated comedy “Smiling Friends” is ending after its third season, according to creators and stars Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel. Two unreleased Season 3 episodes will air April 12th on Adult Swim – Hadel saying they are ‘not finales,’ but rather ‘little stragglers’ that didn’t make it into the run. [Source: Variety]
Robin Hood
MGM+ has officially announced a second season renewal of its adventure drama “Robin Hood” which became one of the streamer’s top-performing original series of all time. Filming on the new ten-episode run begins this Summer in Serbia.
Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, Sean Bean, Lydia Peckham, Steven Waddington, and Connie Nielsen co-star. The new season takes Robin and Marian to the courts of England, France, and Rome in a high-stakes battle for the soul of a kingdom. [Source: Amazon]
Pride and Prejudice
Netflix has shared the teaser trailer for its new six-episode series adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved romance novel “Pride and Prejudice” with Emma Corrin (“Deadpool & Wolverine”) as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden (“Slow Horses”) as Mr. Darcy. Olivia Colman, Rufus Sewell, Daryl McCormack, Louis Partridge and Fiona Shaw co star in the new take which is expected to premiere in the Fall.
Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat
Prime Video has shared the trailer for the second season of Emmy-nominated “Jury Duty” which is titled “Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat” and returns on March 20th with three episodes followed by two more on March 27th and the final three on April 3rd.
The second season follows Anthony, a recently hired temp at a corporate offsite event for a family-owned hot sauce company. Unbeknownst to Anthony, the entire experience is staged, every colleague around him is performing a role.
