New Trailer: The “Youngblood” Remake

Well Go USA

Well Go USA Entertainment has premiered the official trailer for the modern remake of 1986 sports drama “Youngblood,” which starred Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze.

This version is led by Ashton James (“Boxcutter”) as hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, a young man raised on the sport by a hardline father (Blair Underwood).

Dean leaves Detroit to join Canada’s Hamilton Mustangs where his skill turns heads, but his arrogance earns enemies and keeps him benched by the resentful Coach Chadwick (Shawn Doyle).

After a costly clash with rival goon Carl Racki (Donald MacLean Jr.), Dean finds guidance from team captain Sutton (Henri Picard) and unexpected love with the coach’s daughter Jessie (Alexandra McDonald).

When Racki brutally injures Sutton, Dean faces a defining playoff showdown – and a choice between rage and maturity. Olunike Adeliyi, Emidio Lopes and Tamara Podemski co-star in the film.

The new “Youngblood” is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hubert Davis and is scheduled to arrive in North American cinemas on March 6th.
