Tillman, Idris On Spider-Man, Panther Rumors

Paramount Pictures, Apple Studios

“Severance” scene stealer Tramell Tillman joined the cast of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” back in mid-August, a relatively late addition to the cast as filming had begun in Glasgow a few weeks earlier and had already shifted to Pinewood Studios.

Details on his character were under wraps, all that was known was that he would be joining Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Zendaya’s M.J., Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, along with Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles.

Speculation was rife that he would take on the role of either the villain Tombstone or Peter Parker’s Daily Bugle colleague Robbie Robertson. Then a reliable source claimed that Tillman wasn’t playing Tombstone but is playing a villain.

Recently, Tillman was asked by Variety how the villain he plays in Spider-Man differs from his Severance character. to which he responded: “Who says I’m playing a villain” with a smile, then added he can’t “say much” about it, but is “enjoying my time” filming the project.

Tillman made the comments while appearing at the TIME 100 event last week. At the same event, “F1” and “Snowfall” star Damson Idris was asked by TIME about the rumors regarding his potential name being in the mix to play the new Black Panther.

Idris was asked if he could say anything, and if he’d even take the role if offered it. As the question was asked, a great big grin broke out across his face, but he could only say: “No, no, I don’t know anything about it” laughing. When the interviewer says in the future they could circle back to the topic, he briefly nods.
