A feature film adaptation of the 2024 survival-horror video game “Finding Frankie” is in the works with “Mortal Kombat” producer Sean Robins behind the project at 13 Films and So It Goes Entertainment.
The “Under Fire” team of director Steven C. Miller and writers Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert will return in the same capacities here.
The story is set within the twisted, neon-lit world of Henry Hotline, Frankie, and Deputy Duck, three of the game’s most iconic characters.
It is said to “blend the thrilling intensity of Squid Game with the haunting atmosphere of Five Nights at Freddy’s” and feature “tension, heart, and world-building”.
The game released to mixed reviews and places you into the shoes of one of four (un)lucky contestants trapped inside the supposedly bankrupt Frankie’s Parkour Palace, the world’s largest indoor trampoline, water, and indoor parkour park.
You are forced to take part in the eerily empty facility’s still-functioning game show, you must freerun, rail grind, Wall Jump, and swing your way through a myriad of obstacle courses to even have a chance of surviving. At the same time, nightmarish versions of the park’s mascots are also out to bite your head off.
Developer SUPERLOU Games said a film adaptation was “something none of us had ever really considered”.
