Rumors about the “Avengers” films crop up every day, but one that emerged in the past few days has gained a lot of traction.
Scooper DanielRPK reports that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is skipping out on the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” – but with good reason.
They indicate his character is expected to have a huge role in “Avengers: Secret Wars,” serving as one of the most significant characters in the film that will end the Multiverse saga and lead into the next phase of the MCU.
The report makes sure to note that Holland’s status in ‘Doomsday’ is ‘as of now’. Though the film has wrapped the main shoot, extensive rewrites and reshoots are expected early next year, which could impact things.
This fits in with what we’ve seen so far, as Holland has been very busy this year filming Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” is currently filming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” and has been out promoting his Bero brand – leaving little time for even a cameo appearance in ‘Doomsday. ‘
The character had a solid supporting role in “Avengers: Infinity War” but had minimal screentime in “Avengers: Endgame” – mostly limited to the final fight and Tony Stark funeral scene.
