DC Has Two More Films & A Series Coming

To date, three projects set in the new DC Universe have been released – the “Superman” film, the animated “Creature Commandos” series, and the second season of “Peacemaker”, which wraps next week.

In 2026, we’re getting the “Supergirl” and “Clayface” films and the “Lanterns” series. In 2027, we’re getting a “Man of Tomorrow” film. Beyond that, nothing is a lock.

Speaking with GQ Magazine today, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn was asked for any additional updates about the DCU’s slate beyond titles that have already been announced.

The results were indications of three more projects coming:

“Right now, there are actually two really cool film scripts that I’m hoping to take to the next level that we have general plans for, and I’m excited about both of those, and then I’m excited about one TV project in particular. I don’t know why we’re not greenlighted on that already – it’s just figuring out the budget. So there are a couple of things that are very present that I’m excited about. Dealing with getting Supergirl into shape, all these other things.

Watching episodes of Lanterns – that’s coming along well. So, it’s really just dealing a little bit with everything and then mostly Man of Tomorrow. That’s the biggest thing for me. I mean, we go into production in April, so it may seem like far away to you, but to me, it seems awful close.”

In terms of the previously announced titles, it seems as though “The Authority” film is basically stalled, “Swamp Thing” doesn’t appear to have made much progress, the Batman film “The Brave and the Bold” is still early in development with Gunn indicating the other day there’s no script yet.

A “Wonder Woman” film however does seem close to moving forward. As for where things stand with the shows “Booster Gold,” “Waller”, and “Paradise Lost,” it’s not clear at this point.
