DC Studios co-chief and “Superman” writer/director James Gunn has posted a photo of the script for the “Superman” sort-of sequel “Man of Tomorrow” which Gunn is directing next.

The photo shows the cover page for the script, an old-school medical illustration of a non-human humanoid figure dissected with its unusual anatomy seen in profile.

Many are interpreting the picture as being a clear indication of DC villain Brainiac serving as the villain of the film. The character has appeared in many TV interpretations of the Superman franchise, but not on film before.

As previously reported, the film sees Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and Superman (David Corenswet) having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat. Filming on the project gets underway in April next year for a July 2027 release.

The reveal comes as a new deleted scene from “Superman” has gone online, this one showing off a big Krypto & Mr Terrific moment in the film, which hits disc tomorrow.

In the scene, Terrific manages to convince Krypto to follow him, and then attempts to get Supergirl’s pet to fly him through Metropolis’ skies. Instead, he takes a bite out of the hero’s foot

Finally, Gunn also says they have a “really, really good story now” in place for the upcoming “The Brave and the Bold” film according to Gunn on YMH Studios.
