“Mandalorian” Film Plans Grogu Merch Blitz

Lucasfilm

Rather than a fourth season, Lucasfilm is bringing back “The Mandalorian” as a movie which is set to hit cinemas in May next year.

We still haven’t really seen any publicity materials from the film as yet beyond some artwork, but this weekend’s Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai teased that the company has big plans for merchandising the hell out of its ‘Baby Yoda’ character Grogu.

As reported by SFFGazette, an official press release statement at the event says:

“As the Force’s heir in the galaxy and the Mandalorian’s most adorable partner, Grogu has taken the world by storm with his mischievous and endearing charm since his debut. Grogu-themed merchandise spanning all channels, categories, and age groups will soon be available—the Grogu storm is about to hit.”

The “Force’s heir in the galaxy” comment has already got some fans speculating that we may see the character outside this franchise, potentially even a more grown up version in the films set post-“Star Wars: The Rie of Skywalker”

Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne star in the Jon Favreau-directed “The Mandalorian and Grogu” which will open in cinemas on May 22nd 2026.
