Schwarzenegger Returns For “Predator” Scene

20th Century Studios

Original “Predator” star Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the role of Dutch it seems, first as part of a new epilogue for the “Predator: Killer of Killers” animated anthology film on Hulu.

The new cut of the film with the new scene will go online at 7pm US-PT tonight. In the scene, the predator warriors carry floating cryochambers of humans.

We pan across them and see the sleeping bodies of Naru (Amber Midthunder) from “Prey,” Lt. Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) from “Predator 2” and Dutch (Schwarzenegger) from “Predator”. Essentially these fighters are being put in a cold storage warehouse with comparisons made to the ending shot of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.

Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, who directed “Prey,” “Predator: Killer of Killers” and the upcoming “Predator: Badlands,” appeared at Comic-Con to show off the new scene.

He says he met with Schwarzenegger to discuss what they could do with Dutch next. He received the actor’s clearance to use his likeness for the scene, making that canon, and hints that he’s got the go-ahead “to cook more stories with him”.

While Schwarzenegger almost certainly won’t be appearing again in live-action, Dutch returning for another animated feature sounds quite possible.

We’ll probably learn more when Trachtenberg gets out there to promote “Predator: Badlands” in a few months ahead of its opening on November 7th. Check out the new poster for it below.
