Netflix has unveiled the first poster for the fifth and final season of its supernatural drama series phenomenon “Stranger Things”.
The poster comes ahead of the teaser trailer for the new eight-episode run which is expected to go online tomorrow.
Set in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished – his whereabouts and plans unknown.
Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread.
The final battle is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone – the full party – standing together, one last time.
The show’s tone has been described as “if season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids” by the Duffers, the pair saying it returns to something a bit more akin to the original first season.
Stranger Things 5, Volume 1 (Eps 1-4) releases on November 26th.
Stranger Things 5, Volume 2 (Eps 5-7) releases on December 25th.
Stranger Things 5, Volume 3 (Ep 8) releases on December 31st.
