Filming on the second season of Max’s “Peacemaker” series wraps today according to DC Studios chief and series creator James Gunn.
Much of the supporting cast – including Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick and Frank Grillo – all wrapped their scenes last weekend.
Then yesterday, Gunn confirmed on Threads that he’s done the final day of shooting with John Cena and Jennifer Holland with photos showing apparent scenes set in a hotel bar with Cena’s character playing a piano.
Gunn says: “shooting yesterday was one of the most fun days of shooting I have EVER had” and thanked the people of Savannah, Georgia for making the crew’s stay so special.
He capped that off with the line ‘one day left’ – meaning today marks the end of the shoot. As previously discussed, the first season has essentially been retconned into the new DCU aside from the Justice League scene which will get an explanation in the new season.
The second season of “Peacemaker” is expected to launch on Max in the back half of 2025 with rumors suggest a start as early as August.
Gunn also did a post on Threads saying: “Just remember the Golden Rule: Don’t believe anything regarding DC film & television unless you hear it here.”
The post was in the wake of a flurry of wild DC rumors over the weekend suggesting “The Authority” will become an animated film, Checkmate being a part of the “Peacemaker” second season, along with “Teen Titans” film line-up and “Lanterns” villain talk.
