EA Removes Past “FIFA” Games From Stores

Electronic Arts has removed every game from its famed “FIFA” sports franchise that was previously available for sale digitally.

Every past “FIFA” title, including last year’s “FIFA 23,” is now no longer for sale and won’t appear in searches of the PlayStation 5, Xbox, Switch, Steam, and Epic Games storefronts.

Some DLC packs are reportedly still available on the storefront, and FIFA 22 and 23 are both still playable through EA Play.

On Steam, the most recent title “FIFA 23” is stamped with a notice that says: “At the request of the publisher, EA SPORTSâ„¢ FIFA 23 is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search.”

It’s not clear if the games will return or if their removal will be permanent. The removal comes ahead of the launch of “EA Sports FC 24,” the newest game in the series, which has been re-branded.

The actual International Football Federation opted not to renew their naming rights contract with EA and will create their own game instead.

That newest entry in the series is pulling in a decent 76 on Metacritic and has been praised for some key changes by EA. “EA Sports FC 24” goes on sale this Friday.
