Following a teaser back in April, Walt Disney Animation Studios has now released the full trailer for their new animated musical-comedy film “Wish” which opens exclusively in theaters for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Asha (Ariana DeBose) is a sharp-witted 17-year-old idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force – a celestial ball of boundless energy called Star.
Together, Asha, her pet goat Valentino (Alan Tudyk) and Star confront a most formidable foe – the ruler of the fantastical land of Rosas, King Magnifico (Chris Pine) – to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
Other voice talent includes Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, Victor Garber as Asha’s grandfather, Natasha Rothwell as Asha’s mother along with Jennifer Kumiyama, Evan Peters, Harvey Guillén, Ramy Youssef, Niko Vargas, Della Saba, and Jon Rudnitsky.
The film boasts several new songs written by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice for the film, including “The Wish” sung by DeBose herself.
Chris Buck (“Frozen”) directs the film alongside Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”). Lee and Allison Moore (“Night Sky”) pen the project.
‘Wish” opens only in cinemas on November 22nd.
