ABC’s reboot of the beloved sitcom “The Wonder Years” has been cancelled after two seasons.

The reboot’s axing comes a month after the show’s second season wrapped on August 16th with the two-part finale drawing a season low of 1.2 million and 1 million total viewers.

The series followed Dean (Elisha Williams) and his humorous recollections of growing up in a Black middle-class family in Alabama in the late 1960s. Don Cheadle served as narrator.

The cast included Dule Hill as Dean’s father Bill, Saycon Sengbloh as his mother Lillian, Laura Kariuki as sister Kim, Spence Moore II as older brother Bruce, Milan Ray as his crush Keisa, Julian Lerner as his best friend Brad, Amari O’Neil as friend Cory, Yvonne Orji as Bruce’s girlfriend Tammy, and Allen Maldonado as Coach Long.

The series was mostly separate from the Fred Savage-led original show but existed in the same universe. Lindsay Sloane from the original show popped up in a guest spot in the second season.

With this series gone, ABC still has yet to announce whether other shows like “The Rookie: Feds” or “Home Economics” will return for another season.
