Netflix has premiered the teaser trailer for “Bodies,’ its upcoming centuries-spanning UK crime thriller adaptation of Si Spencer’s 2015 graphic novel of the same name.
The eight-episode series follows four detectives living in four different London eras who find themselves investigating the same murder victim in Whitechapel in their respective time periods.
The investigators include 1890’s overachiever Edmond Hillinghead, dashing 1941 adventurer Karl Whiteman, kickass female 2023 Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan, and haunted amnesiac DC Maplewood living in post-apocalyptic 2053.
Each soon comes to realise their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over that 160-year timespan. Shira Haas, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Kyle Soller and Amaka Okafor co-star as the four detectives whilst Stephen Graham stars as a man who seems to be the key to it all judging by the trailer.
Created by “No Offence” and “Torchwood” writer Paul Tomalin, the project is produced by Moonage Pictures with Haolu Wang and Marco Kreutzpaintner directing. Danusia Samal is writing alongside Tomalin.
Netflix is set to premiere the series on the service on October 19th.
