Sandler Gets A New Best-Reviewed Movie

Netflix

Actor-comedian Adam Sandler’s newest Netflix film has surprisingly emerged as his all-time best-reviewed movie.

The Happy Madison and Alloy Entertainment-produced teenage comedy “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” which began streaming on Friday, has racked up a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

That pushes it past “Hustle” (93%), “The Meyerowitz Stories” (92%) and “Uncut Gems” (91%) to give Sandler his highest Rotten Tomatoes score across 34 years of filmmaking.

Sandler has only a minor role in the film. His real-life daughters Sunny and Sadie play the leads, with Sandler playing their father.

The film follows lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine), who have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs. But when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry.

Idina Menzel, Sarah Sherman, Luis Guzmán and Jackie Sandler co-star. Sammi Cohen (“Crush”) directs from a screenplay by Alison Peck.

The film has already been a success as, despite releasing only this past Friday, it has already risen to the top of the Netflix Top 10 Movies list in the United States list.
