“Barbie” Making Of “I’m Just Ken” Video

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. Pictures and Atlantic Records have teamed to release “I’m Just Ken,” a behind-the-scenes video set to the song from the “Barbie” movie and showcasing how they pulled off the big moment.

Often cited as one of the best bits of the film, the clip features never-before-scene footage of Ryan Gosling and director Greta Gerwig collaborating on the musical number alongside Marvel stars Simu Liu and Kingsley Ben-Adir, incoming “Doctor Who” star Ncuti Gatwa and more.

There’s also a look at some of the musicians who helped create the song, including Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash. The clip was released a few hours ago on the official YouTube page of Atlantic Records and has already racked up 300,000 views.

The song itself made Billboard’s Hot 100 chart upon its release and is just one of the multiple markers of success the film has achieved, which includes passing “The Dark Knight” to become the highest-grossing Warner Bros. domestic release of all time.

Internationally, the film has earned over $1.28 billion and is on track to potentially beat “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” as the biggest film of the year at the worldwide box-office.

“Barbie” is set to be released on digital platforms on September 5th.
