Netflix has announced an October 12th premiere date and released the first photos from Mike Flanagan’s fifth and final series for the streamer – “The Fall of the House of Usher”.
Much like his “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor” series, which take elements from multiple works of authors Shirley Jackson and Henry James respectively, ‘Usher’ will utilise elements from various stories by Edgar Allan Poe.
The eight-episode horror drama will follow the reclusive Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and his twin Madeline (Mary McDonnell) as they do anything to help their family business, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, become the pinnacle of the industry.
The Usher family’s dark secrets start to come to the surface when a mysterious woman begins to haunt them. The series also stars Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Rahul Kohli, Willa Fitzgerald, Henry Thomas, Zach Gilford, and Kate Siegel, among others.
The show marks Flanagan’s final work with Netflix alongside the two ‘Haunting’ shows, “Midnight Mass” and “The Midnight Club” along with the films “Hush” and “Gerald’s Game”. Flanagan’s new works will now appear over on Amazon.
