Trachtenberg Comments On “Prey 2” Talk

Hulu

Recently Dan Trachtenberg’s acclaimed new take on the “Predator” franchise with “Prey” made headlines again as the film was nominated for multiple Emmys thanks to its premiere on Hulu.

At the time of release, there was a lot of talk about how the premise offered plenty of potential for more sequels or similar standalone historical tales that incorporate the alien hunters.

Speaking to The Playlist recently, Trachtenberg was asked to give an update on how any sequel might be progressing and what his involvement will be.

Trachtenberg tells the outlet he can’t talk about it but adds that “exciting conversations” took place as they finished up production on the film:

“I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations. The studio, myself, the writer, and the producers about what crazy things could we do next. And I’ve never stopped, no one stopped thinking about how cool things could be going forward.”

Amber Midthunder led the cast of “Prey” set in American’s Northern Great Plains in 1719 as a young Comanche woman, striving to prove herself as a hunter, finds herself having to protect her people from a vicious, humanoid alien that hunts humans for sport.

The prequel remains available on Hulu and includes a version entirely in Comanche as a language option.
