Series Trailer: Peacock’s “Twisted Metal”

Peacock

Peacock has premiered the full trailer for its post-apocalyptic high-octane action-comedy series “Twisted Metal” starring Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz.

Inspired by the classic PlayStation game series, the show is based on an original take by “Deadpool” scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and is being written by Michael Jonathan Smith (“Cobra Kai”).

The live-action half-hour action-comedy series follows a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

With the help of an axe-wielding, trigger-happy car thief (Beatriz), he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.

Will Arnett voices Sweet Tooth – a lover of chaos and a majestic rage-filled killer who dons an ever-smiling flaming-haired clown mask and drives a signature ice cream truck. Thomas Haden Church and Neve Campbell co-star.

Playstation Productions is backing the series that has Michael Jonathan Smith as writer, showrunner, and executive producer whilst Reese, Wernick, Mackie and Kitao Sakurai executive produce.

Stan will carry the series in Australia, with broadcasts airing the day after the United States. “Twisted Metal” launches on July 27th.
