Screenwriter Zack Stentz (“Thor,” “X-Men: First Class “) has hopped on board the animated movie “The White Tower,” which is inspired by Robert Jordan’s iconic fantasy novel series “The Wheel of Time”.

The feature will unfold in a time before the events chronicled in Amazon Prime Video’s “The Wheel of Time” live-action series and, as such, is a standalone project.

Whilst the Amazon live-action series is a direct adaptation of the books, Stentz here will do an original story set within the familiar world of the books. The White Tower in question is used by the mysterious Aes Sedai sisterhood as a capital, residence, school, and fortress.

iwot Productions and Squeeze Studios (“The Amazing Maurice”) are teaming up to produce the work dubbed an action adventure about a young girl with a special gift whose life is forever changed when evil visits her mountain village.

Finding herself alone in a dangerous world, she must go to The White Tower to learn how to use her magical powers in order to save her family and friends. Rebellious and distrusting, she learns that friendship can be as powerful a weapon against evil as any form of magic.

The new film will be produced by Rick Selvage and Larry Mondragon, who also serve as executive producers on the Amazon TV series. “The Wheel of Time” novels encompass 14 books and a mythos spanning around 3,000 years.
