Netflix’s “Stranger Things” has led to numerous young actors scoring careers in film, including Millie Bobby Brown, Joe Kerry and Maya Hawke among others.
Arguably the one who has had the most success thus far, thanks in no small part to “IT” and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” is Finn Wolfhard.
Recently the actor joined LeBron James and John Wick’s Rina Sawayama as a ‘PlayStation Playmaker’ – an influencer celebrating their love of gaming. He’s also been directing a film with the horror comedy “Hell of a Summer”.
Production on the fifth season of “Stranger Things” is on hold due to the writer’s strike, but Collider recently spoke with Wolfhard and asked looking forward to most about the final season. He responded:
“I think it answers an insane amount of questions about the lore of Stranger Things, the world-building. I think a lot of people will be happy with getting back – it’s the last season, so we kind of want to get back to the roots of why the show was so special in the first place and why the dynamics are so special in the first place, and sort of getting back to that.
It’s gonna be really exciting. I’m excited, obviously, to go back and shoot it. I think it’s gonna be very sad, but I’m also just excited, as a fan, to get into it, and I’m excited to see where everyone – I didn’t even know how it ends yet, truly. I’ve only read the first three, so we’ll see. But yeah, I’m excited to see where all the characters’ journeys go.”
He also cited “Jak and Daxter” as the game property he would star in a film adaptation of if he could pick one. It’s likely the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” won’t be arriving before late 2024 and much more likely in 2025.
