Paramount+ has revealed the episode titles for the second season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” with the names giving away some new details about the highly anticipated season.
Cygnus X-1 & Twitter scooper NottingHillNerd (via Screen Rant) has delivered an apparent list of episode titles for the sophomore outing of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the USS Enterprise. The titles and air dates are as follows:
1. “The Broken Circle” (June 15th)
2. “Ad Astra Per Asprera” (June 22nd)
3. “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” (June 29th)
4. “Among the Lotus Eaters” (July 6th)
5. “Charades” (July 13th)
6. “Lost in Translation” (July 20th)
7. “Those Old Scientists” (July 27th)
8. “Under the Cloak of War” (Aug 3rd)
9. “Subspace Rhapsody” (Aug 10th)
10. “Hegemony” (Aug 17th)
One that’s easily picked right away is the seventh episode as being the ‘Lower Decks’ crossover one. “Those Old Scientists” refers to a disparaging joke take on the “Star Trek: The Original Series” abbreviation TOS, a joke made in the first season of “Star Trek: Lower Decks”.
In addition, its air date puts it the week after San Diego Comic-Con, so the chance of a potential week early screening of the episode at the convention seems high.
“Hegemony” likely refers to the Gorn Hegemony and suggests the lizard creatures will make yet another appearance at least once in the new run.
