Twisters
“Nope” and “The OA” breakout Brandon Perea has signed on to join Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos in the “Twister” sequel “Twisters” at Universal Pictures.

Lee Isaac Chung (“Minari”) helms from a script by Mark L. Smith (“The Revenant”), which is dubbed a ‘new chapter’ of the 1996 film. Plot and character details are under wraps, the film releases July 19th 2024. [Source: Variety]

Venom 3
A new report indicates the working title for the Kelly Marcel-directed “Venom 3” is reportedly “Orwell” which it has been suggested refers to the Venom comic character Orwell Taylor.

In the comics, he creates a team called ‘the Jury’ whose sole purpose is to take down Venom and bring him to justice after Venom killed his son while escaping from the Vault. [Source: The Cosmic Circus]

In the Shadows
Letitia Wright is set to lead “In the Shadows,” a biopic of Ramla Ali – the first Somali British professional boxing champion. Anthony Wonke (“Dettori”) will direct from a script by Ursula Rani Sarma and the film releases in the UK and Ireland in 2024.

Ali fled Somalia with her family as a young girl, seeking asylum in London from the civil war. As a teenager, she pursued her love of boxing secretly as she knew her family would disapprove. She became the first boxer to represent Somalia at the Olympics and won the first-ever professional female boxing match in Saudi Arabia. [Source: Deadline]

Untitled Safdie Brothers Project
Comedian and game show host Steve Harvey has reportedly scored an unknown role in the new Netflix movie from “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time” directors Josh and Benny Safdie. At the last report, the project aims to begin shooting in July.

Harvey joins Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, and Megan Thee Stallion in the film which is set in the world of high-end sports card collecting in the 1990s. Affleck plays a retired pitcher, and Sandler is a sports memorabilia agent. [Source: World of Reel]
