“Evil” Shuts Down S4 Filming Early

Paramount+

A fourth season of the acclaimed Paramount+ series “Evil” is wrapping earlier than expected.

Filming on the new run of the show was disrupted on Friday by picketing from Writers Guild members. In addition, the series has now seen a cast member take a leave of absence due to a personal family matter.

A source for Variety indicates the early end to filming was a result of the actor’s temporary exit from the show. They indicate no filming occurred on Friday even as WGA members on strike demonstrated near the production.

On Friday, “Search Party” writer Starlee Kine shared a photograph of striking Writers Guild members near the shoot on Twitter and claimed production was shut down early:

“A handful of us walking in a tiny circle cost them the day’s shoot. We were told the producers were p—–. They kept the crew there for hours, sitting on the sidewalk. We felt the solidarity. We’ll win this whole thing together.”

The fourth season renewal order came in July and was commissioned to include ten episodes. It’s not yet clear if the delay will impact that order number.

Katja Herbers, Mike Colter an Aasif Mandvi star in the series which hails from “The Good Wife” creators Robert King and Michelle King who serve as executive producers alongside Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Nelson McCormick.
